Bite-sized webinar: Impact of moulds on food safety
For our March ‘bite-sized’ webinar, we considering the impact of moulds on food safety.
Would you scrape the mould off and still eat food? And if you did, would it make you ill? How do you view customer complaints which claim illness from mouldy product? We know that specific moulds are an integral part of certain foods, such as blue cheeses – so clearly sometimes mould is safe to eat. But we’ve heard of mycotoxins as a food safety hazard.
We’re also used to seeing mould spoilage on foods, and consumer opinions vary widely on whether any part of those foods can still be safely eaten. If you want to gain some clarity on how moulds fit into food safety, this short webinar is for you.
We will briefly address:
- The variety of moulds of significance in food production
- What mycotoxins are
- Food safety considerations
There will also be an opportunity to submit questions.
