Questioned Documents Constance Bristowe

Constance Briscoe, judge and barrister, was found guilty of perverting the course of justice in connection with the investigation into speeding points passed by Chris Huhne, the former Cabinet Minister, to his wife Vicky Pryce. Jurors were told that Briscoe helped economist Ms Pryce, who was a friend and also her neighbour, to reveal information about Mr Huhne‘s points-swapping to newspapers after the couple split in 2010.

The brief

EUROFINS FORENSIC SERVICES were asked to compare the statement given to police and the statement provided to Briscoe’s questioned document expert and confirm if they were one and the same.

Our findings

The EUROFINS FORENSIC SERVICES expert confirmed that in their opinion, the document supplied by the Police was not a copy derived from the document supplied to the defence expert. Indicating that Constance Briscoe had provided a second statement with some differences.
